Mirrabooka Avenue overpass on track for December 2011 completion

Construction of the bridges has already commenced both on and off-site. Bridge girders (the major component of the structures) are being prepared off site and will be installed over the weekend of 6 7 August.
Three months into the project, the Reid Highway overpass at Mirrabooka Avenue is on schedule for a December 2011 completion.
Several important milestones have already been achieved, including:
Construction of the piers to support the two new bridges has commenced.
Vegetation has been cleared and mulched for reuse at the end of construction.
The new Reid Highway alignment has been shaped and compacted.
Asphalting of the main alignment of Reid Highway has commenced.
The foundations for the abutment walls have been poured.
